The hockey community is mourning the loss of a longtime player, Jacob Carl Bresser, at the age of 29.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Jacob Bresser has left the world far too soon at the age of 29.
Jake's hockey career began to catch attention while he was attending Eau Claire Memorial High School, where he recorded 47 goals and 23 assists for 70 points in only 24 games played which led to a short stint with Chicago's USHL team.
He continued his career at the University of Wisconsin, where his off-ice leadership skills led to him being named team captain and receiving the honor of being named an NCAA III (ACHA) First Team All-American.
"It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of one of our own, Jacob Bresser. An Eau Claire kid who embodied what it truly meant to be a Blugold as a captain, a teammate, a son, a brother, and a husband. Once a Blugold, always a Blugold."
His skillset wasn't just used on the ice, he was a Series 7 financial Planner after passing 66 exams, grading in 2020 with dual majors where he would later on earn his Master's Degree.
"It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Jacob Bresser, who proudly wore our jersey during the 2015-16 season. Bresser was a great person on and off the ice. We will miss you deeply. Once a Jet, Always a Jet."
