The Chicago Blackhawks have hit a rough patch just days before their prospect camp. Artyom Levshunov, the team's second overall pick in this year's NHL Draft, got hurt during practice.
Per Elliotte Friedman:
There was word here at the NHL/NHLPA media tour that Levshunov suffered an injury. Here is some detailhe is expected to be in a walking boot and out for a few weeks.
Early reports suggest the injury could be serious, possibly a fracture or broken foot, which means he could miss a lot of time, but it is unknown at this time.
This is tough news for both the Blackhawks and the young player, who was just about to kick off his NHL career.
Levshunov is seen as a major part of their future plans and was expected to make a big impact as they rebuild the team. Instead of standing out at the prospect camp, Levshunov will now focus on getting healthy- and recovering his injury while in a walking boot for the 'next while'.
This puts a damper on what was supposed to be an exciting camp for the Blackhawks and their fans.
