According to a report from NHL Insider Rick Dhaliwal, the Chicago Blackhawks' rivals are looking to acquire veteran forward Steven Stamkos.
It appears that both the Nashville Predators and forward Steven Stamkos are on rocky ground. The two parties could be looking for the exit, and one destination looks nice to Stamkos.
Keep in mind, this is for an aging forward who has 2 points (1-1) in 11 games with the Predators, who have been bad the last two seasons in the NHL.
Veteran Steven Stamkos to the Chicago Blackhawks Rivals
That is
according to reporter Rick Dhaliwal, who covers the Vancouver Canucks. Stamkos is in the rumor mill, as it appears GM Patrik Allvin could be coveting another veteran.
Could this forward be the one who puts the
Blackhawks' rival back into the playoff discussion?
Fellow reported Cam Robinson had confirmed that he'd heard some of the same discussions regarding the former Stanley Cup champion:
His 2-point start to the year comes after his 53-point year as a Predator in 2024-25. While he remains a future Hall of Famer, his price tag is quite expensive at $8 million average annual value.
He's in year two of his four-year deal, which he signed with the Predators on July 1st, 2024, and GM Barry Trotz is reportedly trying to weasel out of the rich contract he rewarded Stamkos with.
Will he pursue Steven Stamkos, even to the detriment of the Canucks?
