Connor Bedard has a message to Jonathan Toews moment to him facing Blackhawks for first time ever

Connor Bedard is speaking out before facing Jonathan Toews for the 1st time in his NHL career, now that Toews is back in the NHL with the Jets.
The Chicago Blackhawks are getting ready to play the Winnipeg Jets for the 1st time this year, which will also mark the very 1st matchup by Jonathan Toews against the team he captained for so many years.
It's also the 1st time that Connor Bedard, who was taken by the Blackhawks with the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, to face Toews.
Before the game, Bedard said it was going to be cool to face Toews but is looking more forward to when Toews comes back to Chicago in January for the 1st time as a member of the opposition.
It's a cool story for him to get to come back and play at a high level. I think that's special for even fans here who obviously watched him; he was captain of the three Cup teams. It's cool for us to get to play him again but I think the game when he comes back [to Chicago] is going to be pretty awesome.
The game between the Jets and Blackhawks starts at 8 PM.
Connor Bedard Is Playing In The Final Year Of His Contract
Bedard, who was the 1st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft by the Blackhawks after they won the Draft Lottery, is playing in the final year of the 3-year entry-level contract he signed shortly after being drafted.
Like Toews, Blackhawks fans are hoping that Bedard will spend the prime of his career wearing a Chicago sweater.
Right now, it doesn't look like either side is trying to make a furious attempt to get a contract signed, but there shouldn't be any serious fear on the part of Blackhawks fans that Bedard will wear another sweater any time soon.
So far this year, Bedard has 12 points (6G, 6A) in 10 games played.
