A new team joined the Chicago Blackhawks in the Jason Robertson sweepstakes according to a new report from David Pagnotta.
Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson has been at the center of swirling trade rumors for weeks, and now it appears things are heating up again.
Indeed, a new report from David Pagnotta suggested many other teams are interested, such as the Calgary Flames:
"Teams are keeping tabs; Calgary included, I think they've wanted to know, if you can't reach a deal, give us a call; maybe that impacts the
Rasmus Andersson overall discussion in terms of something larger."
While he didn't explicitly mention other teams, it's safe to say the Toronto Maple Leafs are in the list. They've been searching for another top-six winger to complement
Auston Matthews and
John Tavares after losing
Mitch Marner to the Vegas Golden Knights.
Jeff Marek also shared comments hinting that the Stars are still weighing big decisions:
"Possibilities of a trade are on the table which means GM Jim Nill will have to tap into a team who has the assets to make it happen: the Chicago Blackhawks."
It's the kind of price you pay for an elite talent. Robertson, just 25, is coming off an 80-point season and back-to-back 40-goal campaigns. He'd instantly change Chicago's DNA, giving them a lethal combination with Bedard that could terrorize the Central Division for years.
While this is still developing, it feels like we're inching closer to seeing Jason Robertson traded. Whether it's to Toronto, Calgary, or Chicago, expect fireworks soon.
