Big last minute development between RFA forward Martin Necas and the Chicago Blackhawks

Reports surfaced recently that the Blackhawks were one of the few remaining teams interesting in acquiring the rights to sign the most sought after free agent forward, Martin Necas of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Despite Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson acquiring several fresh faces they were still in on Necas, according to reports.

Sadly, a new development confirms a team is going all in on Necas- and can outmatch any of the several teams and their offerings for Necas' services.

The Winnipeg Jets are reportedly interested in moving Nikolaj Ehlers, and according to further reports the Hurricanes are showing interest in a one for one deal, which would be a blockbuster.

There are reports that CAR is pushing heavily for Ehlers.

Can confirm those reports.

Make sense with them losing Guentzel.

#Isles had interest leading up to #NHLDraft.

Could still have interest even after acquiring Duclair but not sure.

With this news it's ultimately confirmed that the Blackhawks are out on Necas, and should be content with the progress they've made during free agency with their own roster as a whole- and not just one player.
