Former NHL defenseman and NHL analyst PK Subban has always been outspoken about the game of hockey. Saturday, he continued the trend during the Penguins-Bruins game.

Subban ripped into Dubas for what he thought he did in Pittsburgh.

Until the last two seasons, the Pittsburgh Penguins have been a consistent playoff team.

It is a different place where the team had been compared to the last decade of dominance it had in the Metropolitan Division.

As a result, Ron Hextall was fired and Kyle Dubas was hired to help the organization turn things around. This meant that the team would be sellers at the trade deadline.

The Penguins have acquired a 2027 fourth-round draft pick from the New York Rangers in exchange for defenseman Chad Ruhwedel.

During the trade deadline, Dubas traded defenseman Chad Ruhwedel to the New York Rangers for a 4th-round draft pick in 2024.

Jake Guentzel, one of the team's best wingers, would also be traded to the Carolina Hurricanes for Michael Bunting, picks, and prospects.

Full trade:
Pittsburgh trades Jake Guentzel (25% retained) and Ty Smith to Carolina in exchange for Michael Bunting, Ville Koivunen, Vasili Ponomarev, Cruz Lucius, Carolina's 1st RD pick in 2024 (Conditional) and Carolina's 5th RD pick in 2024 (Conditional).

Fans and Subban were unhappy with the return from the trade for such an impactful winger.

Subban would share his distaste as the ESPN NHL Analyst regarding this move, and Dubas' plan to trade major assets.

According to Subban, on the ESPN Broadcast Saturday, he blames the Dubas and the front office for such a poor team performance this season.

I don't think there's enough accountability on management when it comes to these situations, said Subban. To look at a player like Sidney Crosby... he deserves an opportunity to play in the playoffs and it's on management to put the best team around him. I don't think they did that this year.

He attributed this to a lack of meaningful moves.

Subban would go on to deride Dubas' effort and believe Dubas doesn't deserve the pedestal he has been put on, as he's just not as smart as people make him out to be.

Apparently that's all it takes, you put on a pair of spectacles and it makes you the smartest person in the room," said a very sarcastic Subban in reference to Dubas.

Sidney Crosby, of course, will be a victim of Dubas' plan to tear it down and the quality of the product on the ice for Penguins fans will suffer for some time.

The time to turn around such a horrid franchise will take years and will have to do their best to find the best route forward.

However, for Blackhawks fans, this should be an easy win in the future.
