Team USA Announces Major Reinforcements Incoming For Finals Game Against Canada

Team USA is working to ensure that they have a chance at total victory over Canada in tomorrow's championship.
Today they have called in the big guns, as defenseman
Brett Pesce, and forward
Tage Thompson have been invited to the Four Nations Face-Off.
With two big names out of the lineup, USA is going to have to shift gears to make sure they have the best lineup assembled as possible.
That's why GM Bill Guerin sent invitations to both players.
And why we haven't heard a development on the
Quinn Hughes front, other than the fact he won't have a chance to play in the tournament.
The rules that allow both players to suit up as replacements for Team USA are very specific.
Thompson can only enter the lineup if the team drops below 12 forwards and Pesce can only come in if the team has less than six defencemen available.
While we'd never have expected Brett Pesce to be nominated for an All-Star Game this season, an invitation to an NHL best-on-best is showing signs of a weakened Team USA.
This season in 48 games played for the New Jersey Devils he's scored 11 points( 1 G, 10 A).
While Center
Tage Thompson was a verifiable superstar in 2022-2023, he's rebounded into a point-per-game player scoring 48 points (26 G, 22 A) for the Buffalo Sabres.
