Patrick Kane plays general manager and recruits top free agent to Detroit
In order to bring free agents to a new territory, you have to sell the team, the lifestyle surrounding the area, and most importantly the city.
Kane spent 2023-2024 in Detroit and compared the suburbs in Detroit to Greenwich in the Connecticut area, and considered it a great place to live, with great schools nearby, and the rink and game rink are convenient, it is in one spot.
He thought the Red Wings treated him well and it's obvious how much he liked his first year in Detroit, returning there after living in the city as a teen.
Kane played 51 games with the Red Wings, scoring 47 points in what could be considered a return to form for the forward.
