Hockey World Mourns The Loss of Iconic Member of Original Six NHL Franchise At Age 86
Morris had an iconic voice for the Toronto Maple Leaf after four decades with the organization, which ended in 1999.
Between 1961 and 1999, Morris served as the voice for the Leafs, one of the most storied original six franchises.
While the Maple Leafs may not have had great success in this era of NHL hockey, their last Stanley Cup win in 1967 was called by Morris.
I'm saddened to learn of the passing of Paul Morris, legendary Maple Leafs PA announcer.
I only met him once, but he was clearly a very kind man, who loved what he did.
His was the voice I grew up hearing on Saturday nights sitting alongside my Grandpa.
RIP Mr. Morris
A wonderful man, fountain of Gardens history and whose cadence was the soundtrack to many generations of Leaf fans:
Us at Hawksinsider send our condolences to the friends, family and all those affected by this tragedy.
May you Rest in Peace, Paul Morris.
