For Chicago Blackhawks fans, the years 2010 through 2015 were pretty special. I mean, three Cups "ain't" so bad, am I right? Well, 2014 was great, but not perfect. Who remembers going down 0-2 against the St. Louis Blues that year in the first round?

On April 19, 2014, that is exactly what happened. Chicago lost their second straight game to the Blues, both in over time. Losing stinks, but the interesting thing about that game was the number of penalties, especially a playoff game. There were 17 penalties called during the game: six in the first period, six in the second period, four in the third and one in overtime. The over time penalty was on our own Captain, Jonathan Toews. Of course, we all know, Chicago came back and beat the Blues, then the Wild, before losing to the Kings in the Western Conference finals.

On April 19, 1996, Ed Belfour made 33 saves in a big win against Calgary in the Western Conference Quarterfinals. It was his third playoffs shutout. He wasn't done, though, he went on to have 11 more playoff shutouts. The story of those will be for another day.... a day in Blackhawks History.
