The Chicago Blackhawks Miss out on a major opportunity
Max Domi's time in Chicago was a successful revitalization of his career, as he found stability within the Blackhawks organization during their rebuild.
He played in 60 games and scored 18 goals while putting up 31 assists, totaling 49 points.
Despite his success, he was eventually traded to the Dallas Stars for Anton Khudobin and a 2025 2nd-round pick.
Even though there was speculation that he may return to Chicago as a free agent, there was no official offer made by Kyle Davidson.
Instead, Domi chose to sign with his father's former team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, for a 1-year contract worth $3 million AAV.
It's possible that Davidson missed out on an opportunity to help the younger players on the team, but it's unclear if Domi was part of their long-term rebuilding plan.
