NHL officially hands out major suspension following ugly scene
The NHL's Player Safety has officially handed him a three-game suspension without pay. This decision comes after he boarded
Nick Cousins from the Florida Panthers during their game in Arizona on Tuesday, January 2nd.
The controversial move happened around 19:05 in the second period, leading Zucker to get a major penalty and kicked out of the game for boarding.
Because of his average annual salary, Zucker will lose $82,812.51. This money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund, following the league rules.
This suspension is a blow for the Coyotes, and fans are curious to see how the team copes without Zucker in the upcoming games. It's a reminder that the NHL is serious about keeping players safe, and actions like Zucker's come with consequences.
