Max Talbot and Marc-André Fleury have always had a special bond - I think being able to speak French when you're surrounded by western Pennsylvanians might have something to do with that. So it's no surprise to hear Max speak highly about the Flower. After all, nearly everyone who meets him would say the same. And yet, the story never gets old.
No matter what he's been through, going through, or has ahead of him, Fleury always makes time for his fans. As Talbot stated in a recent Instagram post, the «best teammate in the history of the NHL» took time after a grueling practice to autograph cards and equipment for 50 kids who waited to see him.
Anyone who's seen him at practice, or at a game, knows this to be true. It doesn't matter what team he's on or what city he's in, he'll never stop going out of his way to put a smile on someone's face.
Even when he knew he wouldn't be returning to Pittsburgh, he left the city with a brand new children's sports complex, that he literally helped build himself. He gets a standing ovation every time he returns to the Steel City. Same goes for Vegas. And even though the time he spent in Chicago was short, the memory of him winning his 500th game in a Blackhawks sweater won't soon be forgotten.
His grace and humility (aside from his obvious skill) are why his teammates, coaches, fans, etc. love him. He leads by example, and we should all take Max Talbot's advice, and «be like Flower.»
