The struggles continue for former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Ian Mitchell, as the Boston Bruins have placed him on waivers for the second time this season. In October, Mitchell went unclaimed, and now he faces the same situation.

Mitchell, who played for the Blackhawks last season, was part of the trade that brought him to the Bruins in exchange for Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno.

In his 13 games with Boston this season, Mitchell has contributed two assists while averaging 15:18 of ice time. He has also played four games with the AHL affiliate Providence Bruins, recording a single assist.

Originally drafted by the Blackhawks in the 2nd round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Mitchell has played a total of 95 NHL games, tallying four goals and 14 assists.
