Forward Evander Kane, who was recently acquired by the Vancouver Canucks, was reportedly physically attacked in Vancouver and required medical attention.

the Vancouver Canucks recently traded for Evander Kane from the Edmonton Oilers just weeks after he helped them advance to the Stanley Cup Final for the 2nd year in a row, only to once again fall short to the Florida Panthers.
Kane, who is from Vancouver, did not receive the kind of homecoming that he was expecting or that anyone should have to experience.
Per multiple reports, Kane was allegedly assaulted and soon required medical attention, but is otherwise physically okay.
Evander Kane was jumped in Vancouver last night & he needed medical attention.

He's doing fine which is great to hear.

A video of the incident will be released to show that Kane did nothing wrong. His friends were being held back.

Kane was minding his own business & out of nowhere he was attacked.

Be better Vancouver.
Nothing has been confirmed and neither the Canucks nor Kane have released any information or statements confirming or denying the reports.
Not long after the trade, Kane Kane penned a lengthy thank-you to Oilers fans for having cheered him on during the last 3 years while also expressing excitement to play for the team he grew up watching.
To the fans-thank you for embracing me and showing unwavering support throughout my time in Edmonton. Rogers Place was always electric, and I'm proud to have played in front of such a passionate hockey city.

My family and I have built some incredible relationships that will last forever.

With that said, I'm incredibly excited for the next chapter of my career as I join the Canucks . It's an honor to become part of an organization and team I grew up watching as a kid.

Vancouver is a city that lives and breathes hockey, I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play in front of my hometown as I did many years ago as a Vancouver Giant.

Kane, who didn't play in the regular season for the Oilers after recovering from surgery, had 12 points (6G, 6A) in the postseason.
