The Chicago Blackhawks took forward (C/LW) Anton Frondell with the third overall pick in this year's draft.

So, what will Frondell bring to the table in terms of character and play?
Frondell, 18 years old, had 11 goals and 14 assists, tallying up to 25 points in 29 games with Djurgarden this past season in the SHL.
This is a major steal by the Blackhawks, and we will explain why.
The fact that he was playing in a pro league as a teenager and still posted those numbers is impressive, especially since he started the season at 17.
He also had seven points in 16 playoff games and helped lead Djurgarden to promotion in the SHL.
That should translate very well to the NHL when he gets his opportunity.
Frondell was also a powerhouse at the combine, doing the best on the power bike while having a 30-second straight all-out sprint, tying second. He'll be able to put in some long shifts when necessary.
Anton isn't the best skater in the world (not a bad one, either, though), which contradicts what Kyle Davidson and his team are trying to build in the Windy City over the last couple of years in the draft, especially when you look at players like Frank Nazar and Oliver Moore.
However, Frondell's size at 6'1, 204 lbs makes up for it, and he adds much-needed size down the middle of the ice and will complement nicely behind Connor Bedard if that's where he lands in the lineup.
Frondell also has a wicked one-timer, and Alex Ovechkin's name sometimes pops up when the discussion is brought up. He doesn't have the one-timer of Ovi, nobody will, but he can rip the puck.
Now, how that would all work out in a few years with Bedard and when all the prospects come in is yet to be seen.
Bedard will be the first-line center or winger, and if that happens, Frondell will be on the first line as well.
The two can go at either wing or center, so it's interchangeable. Or, you can have Bedard at first-line center and Frondell at second-line center. But then where does that put Nazar and Oliver Moore? It's a good problem to have, unless people start getting antsy about playing time.
Skill is most of it, but not all of it; what makes a good pick a great pick in hockey is the personality that comes with the selection, and Anton has it.
He aced the interview and said that he wanted to hug his best friend, Viktor Eklund, after he was taken 16th overall by the New York Islanders.
Frondell also has a ton of confidence, stating that he hopes he can crack the Blackhawks roster for next year.
It's worth noting that he has a contract set in place in the SHL next year, and that he might need a year or two before he's ready for NHL hockey, including a year down in Rockford, but it's nice to see it.
Some Hawks fans were disappointed with Michael Misa going to the San Jose Sharks, so they were a little underwhelmed by this pick, but hopefully they look back and realize that Kyle did good, and this was a good pick.
Welcome to Chicago, Anton!
