Western Conference Team Reportedly Set To Acquire Blackhawks Goal-Scoring Forward

Well, one of them will be Ryan Donato.

On Saturday Headlines on Sportsnet, Elliotte Friedman said that Canadian teams are checking in on Donato, and revealed that the Edmonton Oilers are pushing hard to acquire him.

If you're a contender right now, you'd be foolish not to check in on Ryan right now and see what his value would be.

Ryan Donato is 28 years old and is only $2 million against the cap. He will be a rental as he's set to become a UFA on July 1st.

Donato is having a career year. He has 19 goals- a career high- and 37 points- also a career high- through 53 games.

Donato had a goal in the game against the St Louis Blues on Saturday night and had four points in the game against the Nashville Predators on Friday (two goals and two assists).

Ryan is also carrying a four-game point streak, and through those four games, he has eight points.

With the Edmonton Oilers, he'd be a good third-line center behind Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

The Blackhawks should try to get a first-round pick in whatever team they decide to trade Donato to if they do, however, Edmonton has the Blues' second-round pick, and it'll be pretty high, so Kyle has to be looking at that as well.

Ryan Donato is a scrappy player and is ferocious on the forecheck and in the corners. Chicago cannot trade him for anything less than and they should make it clear they can just keep him and try to re-sign him.

But for right now, coming out of the Four Nations Face-Off break, Donato is going to continue to be one of the best players on the Blackhawks until something happens.
