Former Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Champion Bryan Bickell has came out of retirement to continue his dream of being a hockey player as he's just signed a new contract for the 2025-26 season.

The NPHL (Northern Premier Hockey League) is a senior competitive hockey league in Northern Canada that many former talents of pro hockey join, and this past weekend they've announced what appears to be their biggest addition ever.
Three-time Stanley Cup Champion Bryan Bickell has inked a deal with the Durham Devils for the 2025-26 season.
He retired during the 2016-17 NHL season due to a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS), deciding to prioritize his health and well-being.
Bickell is most remembered by Blackhawks fans for his goal in Game 6 of the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals against the Boston Bruins, which tied the game before David Bolland would bury the game-winning goal just 17 seconds later.
«The veteran forward brings elite experience, leadership and a championship pedigree to our inaugural roster,» said Devils General Manager Justin Nesbitt «A native of Orono, Bickell spent 10 seasons with the Blackhawks and Hurricanes and played a key role in the Blackhawks 2013 and 2015 Stanley Cup runs. We are beyond excited to welcome Brian to the Devils, both as a great player and part owner. His extensive knowledge of the game and vast experience both on and off the ice will be such a positive factor for the rest of our roster and organization,» added Co-Owner Stephen Horn.

Josh Rowlands, who Co-Owns the NPHL, stated that Bickell's signing is just another reason to prove their leagues growth.
«Brian's hockey experience will be a benefit to the league both on and off the ice. He has demonstrated a level of hockey and community support through his professional career that will help grow the Durham Devils and the league as a whole.»

According to the Co-Owner, they're not done bringing in big talents.
«The league's growth has certainly attracted the interest of former NHL, European and other high-level players. We are excited to show our fans the product that is coming on the ice throughout the league.»

Welcome back to the 'Hawkey' world, Bryan Bickell!
