Ryan Donato Just Learned His Fate With The Chicago Blackhawks
Donato's trade value has been the highest it's ever been during his NHL career this season.
He's scored 46 points (23 G, 23 A) in a campaign that has seen him rise from the ranks in the lineup from the fourth to the 1st line.
A verifiable swiss-army knife for the Blackhawks he's found a spot on the Blackhawks special teams.
He's found a home on the 1st power-play unit with
Connor Bedard and resides on the 2nd-line.
Now, like
Jason Dickinson before him, it's likely that we see him offered a contract extension.
Now, it appears that one of the reasons
GM Kyle Davidson decided to keep Donato instead of trading him? The offers from other teams weren't compelling enough to move on from him.
There's been no confirmation of what kind of offers the Blackhawks have received in return for Donato.
But now we know that the Hawks will keep
Donato, especially if continues to play at the pace he is now.
Could he find himself a new home in the next few seasons? Or will he see through Bedard through the rebuild?
Veterans hold value during rebuild years, but they can't block the path of the prospects, and NHL-ready players in the organization.
This season Donato has played 60 games in a Blackhawks uniform and scored 46 points.
Will he get a significant raise from his current $2 million AAV?
