Ready to subscribe to the Chicago Sports Network? Here's what it'll cost you as a Blackhawks fan!
With news of the Chicago Sports Network App launching Friday, there were questions of what a subscription would cost.
The network is co-owned, by Standard Media, Jerry Reinsdorf, and Danny Wirtz of the Chicago Blackhawks ownership.
The Blackhawks, and teams involved with the Network have drawn a mass amount of ire from fans. They've been unhappy with the lack of service, and when they can find a way to watch, poor streaming service, and bad picture are just some complaints found online.
In order to mend fences with fans, Danny Wirtz offered a free membership for Blackhawks fans who are season ticket holders.
Season ticket members are the heart and soul of this franchise, and your passion for Blackhawks hockey drives everything we do,' the Blackhawks' email read, as reported by The Athletic.
I'm reaching out today to acknowledge how frustrating and confusing our recent television broadcast situation has been for many of you.
We want everyone, anywhere, however they choose, to be able to watch Blackhawks hockey. That goal remains the same, and the Chicago Sports Network's highest priority right now is to get distribution deals done with as many carriers as possible.'
Subscription Price
There's been an update regarding the price of the Network, depending on the team and how many you follow.
A couple important notes from the release:
Subscription packages will start at $19.99/month for one team or $29.99/month for full access to CHSN, including all three teams' live games. Fans can enjoy a free 7-day trial of a package of their choice. The streams can also be cast from the web or the app to larger screens including your TV.
Authentication via your eligible pay-tv provider will be available in the coming weeks, followed by access to the games via connected TV applications, such as Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and more.
So, you'll roughly pay $300.00 a year to watch the Blackhawks, Bulls, and White Sox on the CHSN App.
With the price of some streaming services, this isn't expensive, but if you love all three teams this should be a no-brainer.
And if you're a Blackhawks season ticket holder, the free membership should blunt the blow for now, until you are charged for your first month.
So would you pay $29.99 a month for all three teams, or just $19.99 a month to watch the Blackhawks?
