Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk takes the reins from Blackhawks icons Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews in latest feat
Tkachuk is projected to miss the start of the season, a large chunk to say the least. Friedman stated that he 'thinks' the gritty forward will make a return in time for the 2026 Olympics, whose preliminary games begin on February 11.
"I think we will find out at some point here that (Matthew) Tkachuk will miss that start of the season, I think he will be back in time for the Olympics."
This setback for Tkachuk and the Florida Panthers will leave the 25-year-old forward sidelined for quite a while, and the perfect way to make it go by a bit faster may be by playing the new EA Sports NHL video game.
What about Tkachuk's own game?
Matthew Tkachuk revealed as EA Sports NHL 26 cover athlete
Tkachuk's face is now donned on the cover of NHL 26, which is set to be released next month in September.
He has taken the reigns from Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, who were the last players to be holding the Stanley Cup on the video game cover of NHL 16, following their 2015 Stanley Cup victory.
