NHL department of player safety hands out discipline decision on boarding play involving Tyler Bertuzzi
The NHL Department of Player Safety issued a verdict for a dangerous play that occurred in the game between the New Jersey Devils and the Chicago Blackhawks.
Last night, the Chicago Blackhawks hosted the New Jersey Devils as they looked to extend their winning streak to four games.
The Devils came in ready to play and ended up beating the Hawks in overtime 4-3.
A dangerous play that happened during the game was singled out by the NHL's Department of Player Safety, which announced official consequences for a Devils player earlier today.

Indeed, the Devils veteran defenseman
Brenden Dillon was fined $5,000 for boarding Tyler Bertuzzi.
"New Jersey Devils defenseman Brenden Dillon has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for boarding Chicago Blackhawks forward Tyler Bertuzzi during NHL Game No. 268 in Chicago on Wednesday, Nov. 12, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 17:16 of the first period. Dillon was assessed a minor penalty for boarding.
The money goes to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund."
Late in the first period of the game, Bertuzzi was controlling the puck in the corner of the offensive zone when Dillon hit him from behind, using his arm to shove him into the boards while both his skates left the ground.

Dillon, 35, has six points in 17 games, with only 11 penalty minutes so far this season with the Devils.
