Major development in Chicago as the Blackhawks announce a huge change
This morning, the Chicago Blackhawks took on the ice at the Fifth Third Arena, in preparation for tomorrow night's game, on April 2nd, against the Colorado Avalanche, and the organization's interim head coach, Anders Sorensen, unveiled a new intriguing third-line.
On April 1st, 2025, the team returned to their arena to prepare for their eighth remaining game of their NHL season, and it was revealed that the team's interim head coach wanted to switch things up by creating a power third-line, suggesting the team is not treading lightly for this last push.
Blackhawks lineup adjustments
Sorensen kept the top six intact from Sunday, March 30, loss against the Utah Hockey Club. However, his adjustments to the bottom six are very intriguing.
A little unexpected, don't you think?
Despite the uncertainty of Sorensen's lineup adjustments, this may actually work in the organization's favor.
The Colorado Avalanche are one of the fastest teams in the league, and with this new line set-up, Chicago may just be able to keep pace with them.
Anders Sorensen revealed this is exactly why he put them together, in addition to seeing what Oliver Moore is capable of playing the middle.
Anders Sorensen revealing why Oliver Moore has moved to the middle
«Oliver's played center all year in Minnesota, so we want to give him an opportunity to see how that looks,» Sorensen stated. «There's a lot of pace on that line. So, we want to see them together and see how it goes. That's the only way we're going to find out what we have there and if it's an opportunity for him to stay in the middle or not.»
This young trio is suggested to be immaculate on the forecheck, and fans sure hope they are.
As this re-build insists, many are hopeful these minimal adjustments can show what the Chicago Blackhawks are made of.
