In a massive announcement, a Chicago Blackhawks forward was named to Team Germany's 2026 Olympic roster.

His fate has officially been confirmed and he's made the roster, congrats Lukas.
The 2026 Olympics are set to feature an extremely high level of competition, with NHLers returning to the Games for the first time in over 10 years.
Earlier today, in a new development, Sweden, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, Czechia, Slovakia, and Latvia revealed six players who will be on their preliminary tournament rosters.
As of now, only one Chicago Blackhawks player is set to take part in the tournament: Lukas Reichel.
The young Blackhawks winger joins an impressive group that includes NHL stars like Leon Draisaitl, Tim Stützle, Philipp Grubauer, Nico Sturm, and Moritz Seider.
His inclusion confirms his growing importance not only within the Blackhawks organization but also on the international stage for his country.
For Germany, this Olympic team could be one of the most competitive rosters the country has assembled in recent memory. With elite talent on both ends of the ice and NHL-caliber depth, the Germans are expected to contend for a medal in Milan.
Reichel will compete against NHL top talent. Sweden, Switzerland, Czechia, Finland, and Latvia also announced a first wave of selected players: Roman Josi, Nico Hischier, Jonas Siegenthaler, Timo Meier, Kevin Fiala, and Nino Niederreiter will represent Switzerland; Elvis Merzlikins, Uvis Balinskis, Rodrigo Abols, Arturs Silovs, Teodors Blugers, and Zemgus Girgensons for Latvia; Lucas Raymond, William Nylander, Adrian Kempe, Victor Hedman, Rasmus Dahlin, and Gabriel Landeskog for Sweden; Mikko Rantanen, Sebastian Aho, Aleksander Barkov, Juuse Saros, Miro Heiskanen, and Esa Lindell for Finland; and finally, David Pastrnak, Martin Necas, Pavel Zacha, Radko Gudas, Lukas Dostal, and Ondrej Palat for Czechia.
his will be one of the biggest hockey events of recent years, with many NHL legends jumping at the opportunity to return to the international stage, some for the last time in their careers.
