Ex-Blackhawk Jonathan Toews unveils descriptive details on India healing journey that'll make some unsettled

The former Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews shared a detailed description of his healing journey in India that will unsettle some people.
Jonathan Toews stepped away from the NHL for health reasons back in 2023, and following a long health journey, is now back in the League.
This summer, he signed a one-year contract with the Winnipeg Jets, his hometown team, as he looks to return to hockey in a newfound state of well-being.
In a recent interview on TSN, the forward shared some troubling details of his recovery.
Unsettling Details On Jonathan Toews' Recovery In India
Toews appears healthy and ready to compete in the NHL again, and that's what matters.
But what he went through to get back to that level is what is impressive.
Here's what he had to say about his journey back to health in India:
"One of the funner things was the induced vomiting. It was definitely a mental battle. You're more tired, more exhausted than you can imagine for the next 2 or 3 days but kind of in an exhilarated way. Like you're pretty happy and proud in a sense that you got that over with."
Toews also opened up about his return to the League, how he's been adjusting to his new team, and how he plans to help the Jets:
"Sometimes you don't remember what skate you put on first, but then once you get going you don't even think about it, everything is muscle memory. It's fun to just get back in that routine and that structure of an NHL camp and an NHL season."
"It's been a lot of fun slowly getting to know guys, that's something that will take a little while to get settled and comfortable in the locker room. In a way you want to show your respects, especially to the veteran guys in this locker room that set the tone and the example for this team every day. I want to slowly find my way and contribute where I can and find ways to earn that respect and my stripes with this group too."

Jets fans are hoping that the 37-year-old veteran will be able to get back to his former level and help the team win.
In the last NHL season he took part in, Toews tallied 31 points, including 15 goals, in 53 games.
