Disturbing Scene at The United Center Involving a Chicago Blackhawks Forward
The Chicago Blackhawks game tonight has been relatively quiet, up until a lower-body injury occurred on the ice.
It happened with 15:27 left in the period, as the Hawks and Oilers game was a fierce battle of wills.
And unfortunately, Jason Dickinson was a casualty of tonight's game.
He'd have to be helped off of the ice tonight by his teammates and out of the United Center ice.
With injuries piling up, it seems as if this year continuies to mirror last season. While we don't have confirmation of Dickinson's injury, there's a real possibility the team will have to once again dip into Rockford to add some depth down the middle.
If GM Kyle Davidson doesn't utilize a trade to bolster a team that is lacking true center depth.
Dickinson has played 52 games this season for the Hawks, and scored only 16 points (7 G, 9 A) and could miss his career-high of 35 points if his misses a significant amount of time.
He's also been one of a few Blackhawks' forwards who could fetch some real value during the trade deadline coming up in March.
Now, it seems a trade might be far-off, and the Hawks will have to find a way to make do without him.
Vasily Podkolzin wouldn't have a penalty called against him, but the officials were sure quick to penalize
Landon Slaggert, and
Connor Bedard twice now.
