Connor Bedard publicly addresses his future with the Chicago Blackhawks to the media for the first time
The
Chicago Blackhawks' rebuild is fully kicking into gear, as the team has finally seen the youth movement take hold in the lineup.
We've seen spectacular displays of forechecking, as the speed has increased considerably with players like Frank Nazar leading the way. Along with defenseman Kevin Korchinski, who can provide help on the rush.
Connor Bedard was asked about his future with the Blackhawks and gave an answer that had an air of confidence about the new Blackhawks group taking form at the moment.
He revealed in the interview that he knows where the team is, a couple of years away from being competitive, stating that he will indeed be a part of it.
Bedard's in need of a new contract after the 2026 season, and has just publicly made it clear he will be with the organization for years to come, have a look:
Instead of thinking about the Blackhawks as a rebuilding team, he's just stuck to his guns and has played his heart out this season.
The Blackhawks finished 25-46-11 this season, and despite the team being in the dregs, it sounds like he plans on returning to the team in 2025, hopeful they can build on the small victories.
One of those was Frank Nazar burying the OT goal to defeat the Senators, while Bedard came out of the night with a 3-point game (2 goals, 1 assist).
Bedard will be an RFA in 2026 and can ask for a hefty raise once his ELC is done and over with.
Despite the chorus of those
prominent NHL insiders pleading with Bedard not to re-sign in Chicago, this interview sounds like a turning point for the forward.
