Chicago Blackhawks announce huge signing of championship winning goaltender

The Chicago Blackhawks have quickly kicked off their 2025 NHL off-season with the signing of a recent championship-winning goaltender who was born and raised in Wilmette, Illinois.
It appears that general manager Kyle Davidson is already working the phones just one day after the Blackhawks played in their 82nd and final game of the NHL season.
His drafting has paved a bright future with picks like Frank Nazar, Connor Bedard, Kevin Korchinski, Oliver Moore and Sam Rinzel, just to name a few of the boatload.
But there is one area that their prospect pool once lacked, and that's goaltending.
Behind prospects Adam Gajan and Drew Commesso, there were not many promising names in the organization that appeared to be growing at the same speed as the rest of their prospect pool.
That has seemingly changed quickly with a move announced by general manager Kyle Davidson today.
Chicago Blackhawks sign Cameron Rowe
The Blackhawks have quickly signed goaltender Cameron Rowe before other organizations could have a crack at him, in what could very well be the organizations biggest signing of the season.
Rowe played a vital role in the recent Frozen Four playoff run by Western Michigan University, posting a 15-2-0 record alongside a .924 save percentage to lead them to their first national championship in history on April 13th, just a short time ago.
A local to Chicago of Wilmette, Illinois, he is deemed as one of the best goaltenders in the University of Michigan's program's history, finishing his career with a 58-32-2 record along with a .908 save percentage.
The 23-year old netminder also earned the Penrose Cup and the NCHC Frozen Faceoff title. He spent two seasons with Wisconsin before transferring to WMU, giving him a 69-42-3 record for his career. In 123 career games, he posted a 2.52 GAA and .907 save percentage. His final season in Kalamazoo was his best, as he notched a 15-2-0 record with one shutout. His .882 winning percentage led the NCAA and was the best single-season mark in program history. He led the NCHC with a .924 save percentage and was second in the league with a 2.00 GAA. -Western Michigan University's hockey team wrote
Standing at 6-foot-3 and 216lbs, the netminder is set to become a key part in the organization's growing process as he will begin his professional hockey career in the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs immediately.
