In the last game against the Montreal Canadiens, the Chicago Blackhawks had to throw Lukas Reichel in the lineup due to an injury to Jason Dickinson he suffered in the contest vs the Boston Bruins after he was hit by Tanner Jeannot.
Jason Dickinson re-enters Chicago's lineup after a few games away due to injury.
Dickinson, thankfully for the Blackhawks, participated in morning skate and will be back in the lineup tonight against the Utah Mammoth, replacing Sam Lafferty, Jeff Blashill announced (and keeping Reichel in the lineup).
Dickinson is a solid bottom-six player who can produce and make scrappy plays when needed and is the type who is there in a position at the right moment.
He's been here since the beginning of this whole rebuild, most notably stepping up after Connor Bedard went down with an injury of his own, so Hawks fans are familiar and have grown accustomed to his play.
This season, so far, he hasn't really done a whole lot, but the season is still really young and he's missed a game.
Dickinson was asked about what he thought about the Blackhawks' play so far, and he said he's proud of the guys and their effort.
"One thing we can take pride in is our effort and our compete...There's still areas that we make mistakes out of habits we've created over the couple of years we've let them slide. We clean those areas up and we'll feel a lot better about the results. Process matters. You can win a lot of games with bad process. As long as your process is there, you can feel good about what you're putting on the ice."
Dickinson will return tonight in the most winnable game of the season so far at home, and hopefully he can boost the Hawks over that hump and get the first win of the year.
