The Edmonton Oilers GM Stan Bowman is desperate to add depth in the net, and thanks to GM Kyle Davidson, they have an asset in Laurent Brossoit.

Despite being injured, the Blackhawks veteran goaltender Laurent Brossoit is drawing interest from around the league.
One of those teams is the Edmonton Oilers, whose current GM, Stan Bowman, has a direct connection to the Blackhawks in Kyle Davidson.
Davidson was mentored by Bowman before taking over in 2022, and now that the Blackhawks have a piece in the net that Bowman wants, Davidson could make a deal happen.
That would be former Stanley Cup-winning goalie Laurent Brossoit. Unfortunately for the Hawks, his entire first season in Chicago he didn't play once due to an injury and two surgeries.
Now, with the team returning to camp soon with three healthy goalies, Stan Bowman could take a pass at the Blackhawks and ask for the price to acquire veteran Laurent Brossoit.

Laurent Brossoit The Odd-Man Out in Chicago

The last season Brossoit played in the NHL was for the Winnipeg Jets in 2023-24, and he'd have a record of 15-5-2, 2.00 GAA, and a .927 save percentage.
He'd be a massive upgrade from both Calvin Pickard and Stuart Skinner when healthy. Not to mention, for Davidson, now that they have Spencer Knight and Arvid Soderblom, it seems likely that Brossoit may be the odd man out.
Brossoit doesn't fit the rebuild timeline, and if the team can get any assets out of him, it'd be a welcome move.
He has only one year left of his $3.3 million AAV deal with the Blackhawks, and for the Oilers, a cost-controlled goalie would be the best fit.

Do you think Laurent Brossoit would be a better goaltending option than Stuart Skinner in Edmonton?
