Chicago Blackhawks plagued with several injuries in last-minute announcement before the season starts
The Chicago Blackhawks are already dealing with multiple injuries before they even get a chance to play a preseason game, as multiple players won't be able to play.
Back in action tomorrow night are the Chicago Blackhawks, who will play their opening preseason game against the former divisional foe Detroit Red Wings.
But multiple Blackhawks players aren't going to be able to play based on the latest injury report.
"The Chicago Blackhawks have one more day of practice before their first preseason contest tomorrow night, and the jury is still out on who exactly will be available. In a series of injury updates from Scott Powers of The Athletic, the Blackhawks will have André Burakovsky back at practice this morning. However, defenseman Connor Murphy and forwards Brett Seney and
Landon Slaggert will not participate."
Connor Murphy has been involved in
multiple trade rumors in recent months as he's entering the final year of his current contract.
Seney is a 2015 NHL Entry Draft pick of the New Jersey Devils and will likely play with the Rockford Ice Hogs this year, while Slaggert had 6 points (2G, 4A) in 33 games for the Blackhawks last year.
Will Connor Murphy be traded by the Blackhawks?
Murphy only has another year left on his contract, and it would make sense that he would be a likely trade candidate.
"The Blackhawks looked to deal Murphy during the season. He's battled injuries the last couple of seasons and is now in the final year of his contract. Teams looking to shore up their right side will come calling."
So far in his career, Murphy has 160 points (43G, 117A) in 745 games.
