Chicago Blackhawks land Connor Bedard's ideal linemate in substantial proposed trade

The Chicago Blackhawks have obvious holes in the lineup due to the fact that GM Kyle Davidson wouldn't commit a massive amount of cap space to veteran placeholders in the NHL.
That leaves room for prospects and other free agent adds who fit the rebuild timeline to find a spot in the lineup.
With the Chicago Blackhawks' hiring of Jeff Blashill, the team needs to not only add firepower to the offense but also players who can develop alongside Bedard and give Blashill more offense.
They could revisit their old trading partners, the Boston Bruins, in a deal that could see them pry Casey Mittelstadt from the Original Six team.
The Blackhawks could make a deal with GM Don Sweeney, who is in the process of deconstruction the Bruins' lineup. In order to pry a 40-point winger away from the team, it shouldn't be too costly, ideally.
Chicago Blackhawks acquire: Casey Mittelstadt
Boston Bruins acquire:
Lukas Reichel and a 2026 second-round pick originally owned by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
All the team would have to give up is fourth-line forward
Lukas Reichel and a 2nd-round pick not originally owned by the team.
In doing so, the Blackhawks give Lukas Reichel a fresh start elsewhere in the NHL in the Bruins organization, after a dismal 2024-25. In 70 games with the Blackhawk,s he scored 22 points (8-14).
while the Blackhawks would acquire a 40+ point scorer in Casey Mittelstadt, who could give the top-six a jolt of offense in Chicago.
He may not be a center in the organization, but could be shifted to the wing in order to give the team more depth in the lineup.
And at $5.75 million, he'd come at a bargain when the Blackhawks need it the most.
