Chicago Blackhawks fans let their true feelings on Corey Perry be known at the United Center

Corey Perry arrived in town tonight, with the Edmonton Oilers, in what could be considered a "homecoming", but there was no tribute video, just boos.
Tonight the Chicago Blackhawks did their best against
Connor McDavid and the Oilers.
However, they wouldn't be able to stop former Blackhawk Corey Perry, as he pot a goal tonight on
Arvid Soderblom.
The goal occurred near the end of the 3rd-period, at 17:30 and right-on time when his name was announced after the goal, the crowd let him know they didn't like him.
This wasn't unearned arguably, as Perry let Blackhawks fans down last year.
Perry's contract was voided on Nov. 29, following a team investigation that determined he "engaged in conduct that is unacceptable and in violation of both the terms of his standard players' contract and the Blackhawks' internal policies intended to promote professional and safe work environments.»
Not only would he failed to perform up to expectations last season, the voiding of his contract by
GM Kyle Davidson would cost the team extra cash, just to settle the debt.
Perry is entitled to keep approximately $1 million of his $4 million salary after spending roughly 25 percent of the season on the Blackhawks roster prior to having his contract terminated, which means he technically owes money back to the organization because he received a $2 million signing bonus over the summer.
"I'm pleased that we were able to resolve this dispute to everyone's satisfaction," NHLPA executive director Marty Walsh said in a statement Friday. "In its role as collective bargaining representative, the union has no job more important than protecting the integrity of players' guaranteed contracts."
The news of Perry's inexcusable acts against one of the Blackhawks' staff, and the costs to settle the dispute between Perry and the team will forever be etched in the fans memories here.
The one goal he scored tonight, was just another bad memory left on others in his wake as instead of being a great teammate and mentor, he was let go by the team in December 2023.
The Hawks would have to bounce back while missing Perry and
Taylor Hall in that time frame.
The Oilers left United Center, winning the 2nd game of a 3-game series, and with Perry in tow, thankfully.
