The trade saw Doug Wilson play the majority of his career with the Blackhawks (1977-78).
September 6th, 1991, was when the Wilson era in Chicago would conclude, a 13-year run with the Original Six squad.
In exchange, the Blackhawks would receive Kerry Toporowski and a 2nd-round pick, which would become Boris Mironov.

The Aftermath of the Doug Wilson Trade
Wilson would play only two more seasons in the NHL with the San Jose Sharks, as his professional hockey career ended after the 1992-93 season.
He'd never win a Stanley Cup but played a total of 1,024 NHL games as a left-shot defenseman. He scored 827 points (237-590).
Wilson was twice drafted 6th overall in the 1977 NHL Amateur Draft by the Blackhawks.
While the WHA would make a play for him, drafting him 5th overall in the WHA Amateur Draft by the Indianapolis Racers.
Kerry Toporowski, as a prospect, never made the jump to the NHL but would instead become a journeyman in the minor leagues. He last played in the UHL for the Quad City Mallards in 2003-04.
And while the Blackhawks would draft Boris Mironov in the NHL Draft, he wouldn't suit up for the team until the 1998-99 NHL season.
He made his debut with the Edmonton Oilers during the 1993-94 season.
Mironov would play five seasons in Chicago and earn no Stanley Cup during his time in the Windy City.
