Per a report from Avalanche analyst Rob Couch, Colorado could be interested in acquiring Ilya Mikheyev from the Chicago Blackhawks via trade.
Forward Ilya Mikheyev of the Chicago Blackhawks once again reached the 20-goal mark for the 2nd time in his NHL career as part of a 34 point (20G, 14A) season, his 1st in Chicago.
But with only a year left on his contract and the Blackhawks unlikely to make the playoffs this year, there could be other options for Mikheyev to continue his career.
Per Colorado Avalanche analyst Rob Couch of The Hockey News, the Avalanche could greatly benefit from Mikheyev's scoring touch and he'd fit in nicely in their bottom-6 of forward units.
"Mikheyev would provide strong defensive play from the third or fourth line and add more scoring, which is what Colorado has desperately needed from their depth these past number of years."

The Avalanche have clear championship aspirations and would love nothing more than to be once again competing for their 1st Stanley Cup since 2022, and Mikheyev could provide them with valuable depth scoring.
Ilya Mikheyev was acquired from the Vancouver Canucks
Last summer, the Blackahwks acquired Mikheyev from the Vancouver Canucks along with Sam Lafferty for a 4th round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.
Mikheyev has played in 350 career NHL games and has 165 points (80G, 85A).
