This match up will be a challenge for the Blackhawks as the team faces a revitalized Vancouver team that performed well last season it looks to continue to do the same this year. The Blackhawks may face a Vancouver team without JT Miller as he showed discomfort during the opening draw on Saturday's game against the Flyers.
Head coach Rick Tocchet remains optimistic that he can play this game but airs on the side of caution as Miller continues to be assessed.
«He's dealing with some stuff,» said Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet. «We didn't want him to take draws, but he still played well for us. We'll have to see how it is. He'll get a couple of days off to rest.»
Meanwhile, the Blackhawks who are coming off a 4-2 loss against the lowly Buffalo Sabres saw Craig Smith have a two-goal game. One aspect of this game the Blackhawks needs to change is staying out of the penalty box. The Blackhawks are 0-3-1 when it comes to having more penalties than their opposition.
Blackhawks head coach Luke Richardson also has made a change to his lineup as he appears to be benching Philipp Kurashev as his play has not lived up to Richardson standards and feels that a night off in the press box may do him a world of good and give him a wake-up call that's needed.
The Blackhawks are looking for a breakout game especially Bedard as he has only scored one goal through six games. Nick Foligno and Teuvo Teravainen each have three goals but it's clear the Blackhawks will need to dig deeper and find more offence from the remainder of their forwards and defensemen.
