A piece of terrible news was delivered on Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach that could ultimately alter his NHL future due to a recent surgery.
The Canadiens' ending to last season was plagued by the injury of Kirby Dach, who went under the knife for yet another knee surgery so early on into his career.
Now, six months later, with the clock quickly ticking down to the start of the new regular season, the 24-year-old forward is still not fully recovered.
After news broke that Dach was indeed not fully recovered, a healthcare professional spoke out.

Media outlet Habs Fan TV was delivered insight from an orthopedic surgeon who delivered the following news:
"What I was told from an orthopedic surgeon: «Target for pros is 6-9 months but if it was a repeat surgery, the timeline is longer»

This is certainly solid news for the Canadiens organization and their fan base, who nervously awaited an update on Dach's current state of health.
The Canadiens and medical staff must take their slow time on his current recovery and ensure that he's back to 100% before even thinking about hitting the ice again.
It would be in the best interest of the Canadiens to sideline Dach for the first few weeks, or even months, of the NHL regular season to ensure he will be able to withstand a playoff race if push comes to shove for Montreal.
