A medical surgeon addresses how long Canadiens forward Kirby Dach really could be out due to injury recovery
One of the most trending names in the hockey world at this very moment is former Chicago Blackhawks 3rd overall pick Kirby Dach, but it's not for good reasoning at all.
The Canadiens' ending to last season was plagued by the injury of
Kirby Dach, who went under the knife for yet another knee surgery so early on into his career.
Now, six months later, with the clock quickly ticking down to the start of the new regular season, the 24-year-old forward is still not fully recovered.
After news broke that Dach was indeed not fully recovered, a healthcare professional spoke out.
Medical surgeon delivers news on Kirby Dach's current injury recovery battle
Media outlet Habs Fan TV was delivered insight from an orthopedic surgeon who delivered the following news:
"What I was told from an orthopedic surgeon: «Target for pros is 6-9 months but if it was a repeat surgery, the timeline is longer»
So he could still be on track to still start the season, but obvs, the sooner he gets on the ice, the better those odds will look"
This is certainly solid news for the Canadiens organization and their fan base, who nervously awaited an update on Dach's current state of health.
The Canadiens and medical staff must take their slow time on his current recovery and ensure that he's back to 100% before even thinking about hitting the ice again.
It would be in the best interest of the Canadiens to sideline Dach for the first few weeks, or even months, of the NHL regular season to ensure he will be able to withstand a playoff race if push comes to shove for Montreal.
