Team Canada faced off against Team Czechia in the IIHF World Championship, in Group A on May 21st. Team Canada would pull off the victory against Czechia, 4-3 and there were many contributors on ice today.

Which included Dylan Cozens notching 2 goals, with help from Dawn Mercer and Brandon Hagel who also put up a goal each.

But one person was missing from the scoresheet: Connor Bedard as he was completely benched by his coach. Fortunately, Team Canada has a lineup that can afford scoring by committee, but Bedard's offensive presence is sorely missed. Bedard seems to be in the hot seat, as he saw no play in OT against Czechia while acquiring 2 PIMs, 1 shot on goal today, and 8:08 time on the ice. He had less time on ice, than Jared McCann(11:11) and Dylan Guenther(10: 39). Has Bedard finally plateaued after a long first NHL season? He could probably afford the rest time, no matter how much he hates it. Either way, it's not been a great showing in the IIHF for Bedard.
