Transaction: the perfect reinforement for connor bedard has just been confirmed
The Vancouver Canucks have made forward Ilya Mikheyev available for trade after a rough year. GM Patrik Allvin is trying to free up cap space and unfortunately, he's been made the odd man out.
There are three-teams the young forward could ultimately land in free agency and one of them is the Chicago Blackhawks.
GM Kyle Davidson has said the team needs to improve the roster and give
Connor Bedard a linemate to increase the offense.
Not only would Davidson receive an asset or draft pick taking on Mikheyev's contract, but when he is healthy is more than a capable winger on any team.
Mikheyev's best year in the NHL was in 2021-2022 when he was still a Toronto Maple Leafs.
His career high has been 32 points( 21 G, 11 A) in 53 games, playing under Sheldon Keefe.
He more or less came close to that production in 2023-2024 despite being injured, scoring 31 points( 11 G, 20 A) in 78 Games with the Canucks.
He could be a huge help and be a benefit of Connor Bedard's playmaking abilities on the top-line as well.
