The Chicago Blackhawks and GM Kyle Davidson march ever closer to the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
As one of the most important times of the year approaches, it seems the game plan may have already been laid out, for another big draft for the rebuilding Blackhawks.
According to Scott Wheeler who was recently on The Athletic's Podcast with Corey Pronman, Max Bultman, and Scott Peters, the Blackhawks are set on who they will use the 2nd overall pick to choose.
According to The Athletic's Scott Wheeler, he feels like Kyle Davidson and the Blackhawks will select
Artyom Levshunov, as the pick makes more sense than
Ivan Demidov, to the team.
Some takeaways:
- Wheeler admits winds blowing towards Levshunov to CHI and pick makes sense. (He had leaned Demidov till now.)
- Wheeler compared Lindstrom to Fantilli and listed lots of similarities. (Mocked to CBJ.)
- All noted a lot of smoke about Sennecke in top 4-6 picks.
And it appears there's truth to the rumors that the Blackhawks will let
Cayden Lindstrom slip to #4 or #5, and let the Canadiens or Blue Jackets acquire the big center.
As far as it goes though, Levshunov fills a team need and of course, this isn't the only 1st round pick the Blackhawks have.
It sounds unlikely that the Blackhawks will choose Demidov for now though.
