Patrick Kane may head to the Big Apple again as he had unfinished business
During a recent episode of Morning Cuppa Hockey, NHL insider Frank Seravalli spoke with Jonny Lazarus who covers the New York Rangers that Patrick Kane may end up as a Ranger again as he feels he's left unfinished business.
According to Seravalli, Patrick Kane still had an attraction to the New York City market as he went through his free agency process which he ended up choosing the Detroit Red Wings. He stated that Kane had a major injury, and it did not give the New York fan base a true sense of what he can accomplish and would like to have the opportunity to do it over again.
The Rangers are one team among many who will be calling his agent to see if they can acquire his services. Other teams including the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Boston Bruins have all mentioned that Kane may be on their radar.
His comeback season was phenomenal considering the severity and invasive surgery that he had done to his hip as he underwent hip resurfacing surgery last summer. Many people felt that he may never play again as others who have had the surgery stopped.
Kane willed the Red Wings almost to a playoff spot as they came up short on the last day of the season and during his time with the Red Wings, he played fifty games and had 47 points including 22 goals.
It remains to be seen on whether general manager Chris Drury would make the decision to try for Kane but this time it would not cost him anything in terms of prospects or roster players or draft picks.
