Emotional Sidney Crosby Breaks Down On Air During Interview

During interviews with the media, NHL veteran and multiple Stanley Cup winner Sidney Crosby often gives stereotypical answers.

It is also known as the "hockey answer" because players often use catchphrases and buzzwords. YouTube has the sketch, but Crosby, usually the calm and collected veteran, broke character Sunday.

In the post-game interview after the Penguins beat the Flyers, his former coach was on the panel, along with Paul Bissonnette and others.

On the broadcast, Granato revealed his current cancer diagnosis, causing Crosby to be overwhelmed with emotion.

As a result of speaking with Granato, the superstar center's attitude changed, and Granato recommended Crosby take a moment to enjoy his victory and bask in the moment.

Crosby would reply with earnestness, as his voice broke in cadence, and after all was said and done, would change his tone. It was Granato's role as mentor and friend that held a special place in Crosby's life.

The sport of hockey has been enriched by Granato's contributions, and we wish him all the best as he fights cancer.
