Alex Ovechkin spotted celebrating NHL goal scoring record in not the way you expected
Alex Ovechkin is now the greatest goal scorer in the NHL, achieving milestone goal 895, he was found partying soon after
Alex
Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky's all-time goals scored record in the NHL yesterday against the New York Islanders.
Goal #895 came against
Ilya Sorokin, led by former goalie Patrick Roy, in what was an epic power-play goal.
He would receive the kind of celebration you'd expect backstage, including the former holder of that record, The Great One, Wayne Gretzky. He was gifted Ilya Sorokin's stick in memory of that night.
Upon his arrival in Washington, he was treated like a superhero.
He'd make his way to a private party in his honor soon after.
« Ovi back in Washington after making history... the first stop of the celebration tour is a private party at Balos Estiatorio. »
Ovi wouldn't shy away from the intense part of the celebrating, as he'd double-fist beers, given by his wife.
Nothing but the best for Ovi, who is a living legend in the NHL. In 1,487 games he has scored 895 goals.
Even if the
Capitals were to fall out of contention today, this would be a great time for fans of Ovechkin and the Capitals alike, as they witnessed history yesterday.
That was goal number 42 on the season, after a short return from an injury earlier in the year.
At the age of 39, that is an amazing stat for the russian sniper.
Ovechkin will be remembered for the impact he's had on the game, as a dedicated and skillful two-way forward. It's not the last we've seen of him this season, thankfully.
