It was reported today that Chicago Blackhawks prospect Sacha Boisvert will not be signing with the team after all, and has instead entered the NCAA transfer portal.
Sacha Boisvert entered the NCAA transfer portal recently and has decided not to sign with the team that drafted him 18th overall in 2024, the Blackhawks.
He has decided to join the Boston University Terriers, a place where he'll be joining fellow
Blackhawks draft pick in the same draft class,
Jack Pridham.
This season, Sacha
Boisvert played exclusively for the University of North Dakota, where the 1st-round pick scored 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists) in 37 games.
Blackhawks led the team during the 2023-2024 season.
Prior to joining the University of North Dakota, he played two seasons in the USHL with the Muskegon Lumberjacks.
He'd play a total of 118 games in the USHL, and scored 113 points (53 goals, 60 assists).
While this news is surprising to all of us, the projections for Boisvert felt that he was a development project for the team, who could require multiple years of college hockey before he was ready to turn pro.
Boisvert will continue his development at Boston University, leaving a team of 13 NHL draft picks in the Fighting Hawks.
Can Boisvert top his career-high in 2023-2024 of 32 points in 2025 with Jack Pridham's help?
