Connor Bedard has been involved in an abundance of speculations recently as the Blackhawks' NHL season nears it end, he quickly broke his silence by admitting his appreciation for the organization which created these rumours to die down, yet, a reporter revealed he may still be on verge of departing Chicago.

Report on Connor Bedard's Fate in Chicago

On last week's episode of Jeff Marek's podcast The Sheet,
ESPN's Greg Wyshynski said the following:
"I think Connor Bedard wants to be on a winning team and if he thinks that this team is being mismanaged to high hell over the next two to three years, I think he's gonna be the guy to be like, get me out of here."

Although it feels like this key-forward just made his debut with the Blackhawks, he will be a Restricted Free Agent, also known as RFA, next offseason in 2026, and despite Kyle Davidson expected to negotiate his next contract, the 19-year old is expected to depart from Chicago if change doesn't happen.

The Break Down

Connor Bedard has endured a brutal season, regardless of his impeccable gameplay and record this year, the team is incapable of moving out of the NHL basement.
With Bedard being 19-years old age, his career within the league is definitely not limited, it all just depends how he would like to spend it.
The Blackhawks' probability of playoff contention during the NHL 2025/26 season would be great, but it doesn't seem likely for such a re-build, and by this time, Bedard is expected to have teammates closer to his age, who hopefully a coach replacement will erupt by that time, and if it doesn't, it seems like they may need a replacement for their key-forward.
As long as Kyle Davidson makes the right moves towards the organizations success, but eliminating their current head coach and signing young talented player's, the possibility of Bedard's longevity will remain.
However, when the time comes that this 19-year old can decide whether or not Chicago is right for him, fans can hope the organization has moved in the right direction, as it may cost the team's best forward.
