Mike Loftus was a beloved sports writer who covered the Boston Bruins for 31 years.

He was known for his dedication and the only game he ever missed was for his son's college graduation.
Loftus wrote for the Patriot Ledger and was respected in the sports community.
Sadly, Loftus passed away at 65 after a fight with cancer, leaving behind his family, friends, and many colleagues.
His passion for hockey started with his mother and stayed with him his whole life.
He was more than just a journalist; he coached, officiated, and even joked about his skills as a "puck-losing defenseman."
Loftus saw the Bruins through highs and lows, covering everything from Stanley Cup runs to tough playoff losses. Even when budget cuts in 1998 restricted his travel, he kept reporting with the same energy.
Loftus had to stop reporting in 2020 due to business changes and the pandemic, ending his long career.
Our thoughts go out to everyone who knew Mike Loftus.
