Vicious attack on referee left him with severe injuries and a skull fractuture
It's been reported that a referee for a ball hockey game had suffered severe injuries including a fractured skull and jaw as he removed a player from the game.
The attack was held during a game in the Quebec City area where the player in question was ejected from the game which then in turn had him attack a referee who's 39 years old. The attack was vicious and brutal as the assailant used his stick as a weapon and struck the official across his chest and then his face with enough force to break his jaw cause severe damage to his teeth and fractured his skull.
The 31-year-old player in question was arrested in connection with this attack and has received a lifetime ban from the North American ball hockey players association.
No charges have been laid at this time, but it's widely expected that there will be and will likely face a trial for this assault.
The victim is facing more surgeries as the bones heal and the teeth may be replaced. We wish him well and a speedy recovery from this tragic event.
