24 hours after being stretchered off the ice Dylan Holloway has returned and explains what happened
A little less than 24 hours ago Dylan Holloway was stretched off the ice, and rushed to the hospital. The forward would return to practice this morning, and explain what happened to him.
This was the scariest moment of the season as if 2024-2025 wasn't chock full of surprises already. Holloway took a puck to the neck on the ice, which cause a scare for the forwards health.
Fortunately, he was able to return to the ice less than 24 hours after his trip to the hospital. Holloway explained how he was feeling to the media after he learned the puck struck his "Vagus nerve". The nerve is important and helps control digestion, heart rate and breathing.
"As soon as the puck hit my neck, I knew something was a little off. As soon as I started skating I felt a little lightheaded a bit and then when I was going to the bench it kind of felt like when you stand up too fast and you get that head rush. It felt like that but it kind of just kept coming on."
.
The St. Louis Blues would provide an update on Holloway's health after spending a night in the hospital under supervision. Holloway was lucky that his health never deteriorated. Holloway himself was unsure of what was happening when he left the arena last night.
"I didn't realize they had stopped the game. I didn't think it was actually that big of a deal. But, I'm just thankful that all the medical staff and everybody was so hands-on and was able to get me to the hospital safely."
Without proper medical support from arena staff, there's an assumption that Holloway's health could've been worse. Fortunately, for Holloway, he looks great and is ready to get back on the ice and compete after the scary incident.
Holloway arrived in St. Louis after Doug Armstrong was bold enough to offer sheet both himself and Philip Broberg.
Holloway is an up and coming top-six forward, who has grabbed the brass ring in St. Louius while they re-tool their roster.
