The worst may be confirmed for Oilers superstar Connor McDavid
Edmonton Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch addressed the media just two days ago, delivering news that star player Connor McDavid will be sitting out longer than expected.
McDavid's absence from practice earlier this week, following their match against the Calgary Flames, has now raised concerns about his health, especially with his injury earlier on in the season before the outdoor game in against the Calgary Flames.
While he's been seen working on skating and skills during individual ice sessions, he has yet to join the team for full practice.
McDavid's return was anticipated for the game against Vancouver, the decision to rest him reflects the Oilers' cautious approach to his recovery. McDavid himself acknowledged lingering lower body issues he's faced throughout the season.
"McDavid says he's not likely to go tonight. Said it was a bit of a nagging injury as well as something he tweaked vs Calgary, but he expects to be fully healed up by playoffs. Didn't commit to tomorrow vs Van either. Skated hard for over 30 mins today."
McDavid's absence raises concerns about his health heading into the postseason.
